So I've been slacking for a while, a long while - but I'm on a roll again and I promise to (try) update frequently.  Here is a little something for you :

Comic Book Cover

We had to create a comic book character from already existing ones.  My character is a mix-breed of Emma Frost, Black Widow and Deadpool.  Her name is Violet and she is badASS!  Hope you like.

Corporate Identity

For our corporate identity we had to develop a business for ourselves; including: a logo, business cards, letterheads, envelopes and promotional material.  This design process was extremely complex.  We had to figure ourselves out while trying to wrap our heads around the elements of design.  All this stress caused me to have a mini-life-crisis and question my future, style, crowd and so on and so forth.  After endless contemplation I decided I am indefinable and would follow through with that in my corporate identity.

Personal Identity

Illustration is for most parts the funnest subject but this assignment I felt it to be unrelated and not so enjoyable.  Only when we had to present did I realise it was about expanding our conceptual thinking.  We first had do create a visual mind map, I personally dislike mind mapping and brain storming so I decided to make my text into a picture.  Next we had to hunt down the oldest looking photograph in our family albums and creatively insert a timeline into the photo.  This task emphasised my lack of knowledge about family affairs which resulted in learning interesting facts such as my granddad's uncle won a gold medal in the 1908 Olympics.  Impressive!

Iconic ME

I LOVE SLEEP!  Anyone who knows me, knows to wake me up, is to perform a miracle.  Last week sleep was extremely rare in my life but as any graphic student knows the feeling you get when all your hard work comes together exactly how you want it to, it's all worth it.

The first project we received as second years required us to do something I despise: self-evaluation.  I prefer to go with the flow and keep things simple but I'm also a diverse person, changing my mind every five seconds.  I decided this project was going to be a nightmare but yet again I was proved wrong.  I thoroughly enjoyed it!

My very own font: Neon Edge.

As a SDC student, normal, average and ordinary are not part of your vocabulary. For this assignment we were told to find and take pictures of everyday objects that resembled every letter of the alphabet, not knowing the reason behind it. At the end of our alphabet adventure we were forced way out of our boxes by developing our font according to the pictures we had taken, every little detail had to be considered. Oh, and we had to do it by hand.
